is a good choice. It is just across the freeway (west) side from the Holiday Inn. It is is rather new and close to the Ocean.
Any of the hotels other than Aviara and LaCosta are all
good choices though the Marriott and Hilton are defintely newer than the Holiday Inn (twenty years ago it was an Anderson Pea Soup Hotel owned by individuals out of Solvang) and they are about the same distance from the meeting at LaCosta.
Just a suggestion: maybe by combining forces and reserving a block of rooms at any of the hotels then a corporate rate could be negotiated.
As Carlsbad is a distance from both Lindbergh field (San Diego) and John Wayne (Orange County) and as we Southern Californians do not believe in public modes of transportation plan on renting a car not only to get to the hotel but also to the shm and just about anywhere else. There is nothing much in walking distance to any of these Hotels other than a large and upscale Company outlet center just off Palomar Airport Rd.
I`m beginning to wonder if the meeting room in the clubhouse is going to be large enough to fit all of us planning on the shm. I wonder if the ballroom is available?
