I sent this on .....

I wonder if anybody has ever made a list of sports stars that severed in WWII. In one year low ranked pros make basic pay of over 200k which is more then many of the greats made in thier whole career and many still took off to fight..

One I know of

Jerry Coleman.... pilot and Col in Marines fought in WWII and Korea..... hero..... played 2nd base for Yankees and was MVP in (I think) '49 world series. Probably could of had a heck of a career but took time off to me an American.. Currently and for the past 30 years a sportscaster for SD Padres in Cooperstown Hall of Fame
