Who says I fervently support corporations? Fervent huh? Hhhmm...
I support wealth creation through free market economics and competition. This ranges from mom and pop businesses through large corporations. Do I think that corporate execs are seriously overpaid? I do. It's almost criminal what they get paid; but it's legal. Do I think that Unions are way to powerful and looking out for their own best interest at the expense of the companies they work for, and the society that they live in? I do. But that being said, if left to its own devices, the market will work itself out. That's why I'm opposed to these ridiculous, sp?, bailouts and government involvment in this countries businesses. I don't want to see businesses fail; but if they do, through free market economics and competition, either that busines that files bankruptcy will get it's stuff together; or other better run, more competetive companies will take it's place. Competition creates efficiency and ingenuity. Ultimately it creates better and cheaper products for us all; jobs; and wealth. Is there something wrong with that?
As for your question on interest rates and mortgages; I own two houses and have about 20 plus credit cards of varying types, interest rates, and credit limits. I carry no balances on any of my credit cards. I purchase property that I can afford to make the payments on at the best interest rate that I can get. I carry no balances on my credit cards because I choose not to. I purchase property in the price range that I can afford. In other words, I live and purchase within my means. I am wholly and fully responsible for my actions; and any consequences derived from said actions. I don't blame my mommy and daddy for my problems. Nor do I blame my school; my job; my wife; my neighbors; my dogs; the govt.; society; etc... You get the idea... I'm a big boy. I make my choices; I take responsibility for them; and I live within my means.
I don't play class warfare. This rich vs. poor thing is crap. If it weren't for the rich paying almost all the taxes in this country, the poor wouldn't have any social programs. Why the poor think the rich owe them is beyond me. Peoples money is peoples money. It's not right for one class of people to think that another another class of people owe them something or that it's ok to take from the people who have worked hard for their money to give to people who haven't worked as hard for theirs. Remember, I'm a POOR student these days. I go to school. I'm not rich.
Think about this; for many people across this country you have to pee in a cup to get a job. You may even have to randomly pee in a cup to keep your job. Here's a thought; let's require all the people getting welfare, extended unemployment, or who are in the lowest tax brackets, (which means that they actually get more back from the govt. in the form of a tax refund, than they actually contribute into the system). If the working people of this country have to pee in cups to pay taxes and to support all those who take more than they give; then why not have all those net takers be required to pee in a cup just to get what they didn't earn? I mean really, think about that. I guarantee you we would save a fortune in our tax dollars if we didn't have to give away money to people who didn't even earn it if they couldn't even pass a drug test for their free money. Think that's unfair?
I hope you have a better understanding of me and my values now. I'm not opposed to poor people; or people who have challenges in life. Heck, that's me right now. But I'm not waiting for Daddy Oboma or anyone else to come and do for me; nor do I expect, or feel that I'm owed that. I'm taking responsibility for myself and doing for myself by going to school so that I can improve my own, and my wives situation in life. It's my own fault where I'm at in life at the moment and nobody did this to me but me; by making the choices that I did. Where I'm at is not a bad place; it could be a better place though. But I am where I am because of my own choices. I take responsibility for me.
