I would say, no, they are not buffed up. 

 Richard Nemis is a savy CEO, and as has been stated before on these boards, HE HATES SHORTERS, [and so do I by the way]. To use tricks to pump the stock up would play into shorters hands.....that is if the stock spikes too much, based on false appearances, then it will fall back, and the shorters will jump on it and push it farther down than it deserves, shaking out the legitimate investors, while those leeches reap the benefits.
