There were many shut downs throughout that time period. Ni prices were up and down. I know for sure during that period, the mine was idle for many years. I think they shut down and re-opened at least four times during the life of that mine. The old vet was there the whole time, sometimes only for site security. At one point, him and his wife had a modular home on site, and they both worked for INCO on a 24 hour security/inspection watch. He had no shortage of money, I guarantee you that.
