I have seen halts as short as one hour and as long as three or four days from different companies.  Market ordered halts (such as the one on JAV) can last for weeks or months and are painful to shareholders.

NOT is the one who issued this halt.  They are also the ones who will determine when it is best to lift it.

The fact that they are taking these kinds of precautions around Double Eagle after spending the better part of a year issuing news releases without halts tells me that they are considering every single detail now that the stakes are so high.  There is no way they are going to be accused of playing unfair, even if that means halting until the assays come out.

Who knows what might have happened.  Maybe an lab tech at the assay lab who had access to some results suddenly quit last Thursday?  Or that Mr. Nemis has found that it is impossible to keep news from leaking from a camp, even with a communications ban.  There are a lot of ways to try to stop leaks, but the best one is a halt whereby everyone gets a fair shake at the same news.

I call these types of halts the "cover our butts" halts.

Anyway, my wife just go over her case of "multibagger" illness and misses clicking refresh.  She convinced me to buy a small portion of an unnamed sideplay that will remain unnamed to protect the integrity of this board (though Novak has a relation to both ;).

I must say that I appreciate her enthusiasm and enjoy seeing something else go up while we wait.  Of the others, I am still not to sure as to the long-term implications of the sudden increases of the side plays.  If Noront announces stellar results in the next NR, the sideplays may be all we are able to afford with the money I collected from empties over the weekend.
