I tried to put in an order for $50/sh with RBC. It was rejected, and when I phoned, they told me the most they allow is double the current price. I asked how they know that the stock would not reach $50 given its rise since August, and then asked shares in my account are made available to short sellers. I was told that that they are, but the RBC does not allow margin trades on the Venture, hence it does not allow its account holders to short shares on the Venture. That means, no Venture shares held in RBC accounts are available for shorting... Interesting.
