Very interesting, but it discounts the earlier (and much admired) theory whereby, in the last millenia, the earth was attacked by the Martians (who lost) who utilized solid gold missiles with platinum warheads ( relatively cheap commoditys on Mars at the time).

Then again, you could be right.
