Oil is priced in US Dollars although the Europeans are working on an alternative market. Metals have for a long time been priced in US Dollars. The weak US Dollars has of course had the effect of pushing up the price of metals as the end users eventually pay for in in their home countries currencies which have increased in value against the US Dollar.
