On page 11 of the Financial Post there is an article on Xstrata spending $3.8 Billion to develop the Koniambo Project in New Caledonia.

This is to extract nickel from laterite minerals, a task much more complex then extraction from sulpide minerals.

If they are prepared to take this kind of a gamble on a difficult task. What do you think they would pay for a similar deposit or better at the McFaulds site.

Perhaps somebody with more technical ability could post the article here.
