The Canadian economy is indeed holding up well BUT by far our major trading partner is the USA and if they get hurt we will too.
Yes the C$ is very strong vs the US$ and that is hurting Cdn firms selling into the USA. I should know I'm one of them and taking a bit hit at moment. Likely strong C$ vs US$ will be with us for a year or two.
Foreign money is indeed trying to find a home in Canada and causing part of that high dollar. Canada is just too small a market to handle the huge amount of capital that is looking for a place to invest. This causes problems (as it does in New Zealand). These investors are looking to invest billions and buying out everyone in the DE play would be childs play to them. Of course they are looking for solid long term investment not speculation.
Back on topic, unless news comes out we'll be sitting on edge of our seats all day. Looking at premarket bids doesn't seem to help at all. Lots of shares on offer it seems.
The big plays who can move Noront stock price 20 to 40 cents at any given minute don't participate in this formum. They think they know it all anyway. It's still realistic to think that anyone investing millions of dollars in the DE play are getting advice and background we are privy to.
