Misfit's Midevening Musings - November 5, 2007

Hi all,

Just wanted to stop by and say hello.  Not much to say about Noront that hasn't already been said.  At least not until news comes out again.

With that in mind, I am still thinking over the gold council and what it could look like.  Agoracom has offered some resources if we keep it a public board so I am going to adjust it a little to keep with the Agoracom format.  They too are interested in what the next Noront will be :.  My hope at this point is to make it a place to discuss non-Noront stock in order to keep this board to specifically Noront topics (and of course anything side plays within 50KM of Noront's properties as these have a potential impact).

Onto another topic.....

Bravekind my brother.  Nice to see you giving out books.  Is that all you could afford with the ten bagger you have enjoyed this year (said with a smile).  Does it come signed?  lol.

The NOT longs will remember a similar contest that Jiminy2 started on May 5, 2007.  It was post ID Post #14798096 on stockhouse.ca.

Here is the posting:------------------------------->

"Ok, it's probably THE most exciting time to be on board the NOT train.
Most professionals will tell you, buy just as the drilling is about to commence. Not that I am a professional, but Imagine the feedom when NOT finds more and more gold.

So, as the share price speculation heats up, I would like to see if we could set up a contest. Try and pick the closing share price for the end of 2007. The winner will receive the wizard award of the century, and a bottle of Don Perignon Champagne courtesy of Jiminy2. (Just in time for our NEW YEAR'S celebration.

All entries must be received no later than Friday May 11, 2007.

Disclaimer; this contest is not endorsed by the sharewizard and has no affiliation whatsover. Anyone is welcome to enter (including sharewizard).

End of posting.-----------------------------------------------<

Now that is an offer!  Bet you thought I forgot Jiminy2 ;)

Over the next days, we all threw in our guesses.  See if you can pick out some familiar names:

MarathonMan:  "xmas over 15 dollars"
Bravekind:  "I say $17.50 by Christmas"
KTNJONES:  "Lets say 16.40"
Mojo2:  "I'll join in too and say 12.60"
OldLady62:  "End of December 2007 = 5.76"
Canseco:  "Sorry contest entrants.......NOT will not exist by the end of 2007.  It will be taken out by a major, in the $13.00 to $15.00 range before then.........maybe"
bobbyCC:  "end of year $9.25"
Snezzer:  "End of 2007 = $3.90"
MisterJack:  "End of 2007 - $12.00"
MarathonMan:  "I'm in ... For a conservative $22"
FranzNeuman:  "End of year, 2007: $6.85"
CrazyDik:  "Year end: $40.00"
Miskealp:  ".75 end of may and $2.35 next may (2008)"
Gramps1996:  "SP = $ 23.50"
Misfit1: "hope I'm wrong but I'm going for $3.25"

Talk about a room full of pumpers!!!  Funny thing is that the stock was trading at .60 cents after falling as low as .53 (it would later fall below .40 for a few short days in August).  Now look at it!

You will notice that many of those making guesses last May are still with the NOT forum and making excellent posts on a regular basis.  Despite the short term ups and downs, there is still a lot of value in holding out long when you know the company has excellent management and excellent properties.  The group above watched NOT go from $1.07 after excellent Windfall news to a low of .29 cents in August despite a constant string of good news releases all summer.  The stock has been the hedge fund's whipping boy since day one, but in the end all the longs prospered.

The only question that remains is whether or not franzneuman is going to take home the bottle of Dom?  Hopefully NOT!!

M1.

P.S.   Here are some pics from Windfall that led us to make those high guesses above.  With Gold over $810 bucks an ounce, we should never forget what will be paying the lighting bill over at the Noront office in 2008.
