In this sence it is not unlike the 1960's leading into the 1970's. However, there is also the 1920's leading into the ... as well.

PS: Also something similar to the late 1860's through the 1870's (recall the events of the 1860's in the USA) would be worth looking back into for some understanding of possable current consequences.
