Just checked with TD Waterhouse Webbroker and they informed me that each account is insured up to $1 million. They went on to say the TD Financial Group is minimaly exposed to the sub-prime issue  through TD North which is their US bank consisting of a minor part of their interests. They appear fully cognizant of the asset backed securities issue and are convinced they have minimal exposure.
