And why might someone want to hold the price down?

So that when they make an offer of X$ per share, it will look good to some shareholders, and the offering entity will be able to say "this is a good offer...it represents a premium of _____% over the prevailing market price".

Well I want a minimum of 100% premium over the current fair value of $10.00 per share.  The longer they wait, the higher my price goes.
