Others have posted written statements to the contrary: news releases and company responses.

Which carries more weight? Reported conversations (hearsay) or written statements.

May I suggest that you ask Mr. Novak to put his comments to you in writing? Then come back and post that response.

To admonish others to do their own DD when they show you written statements is a little like saying 'I know this validated contract says you owe Martha $5.00, but I talked to Bert, who knows Martha, and he said you don't - now prove me wrong or don't argue with me about this'.
