Message: Re: Question for the board reguarding claims / Claim numbers

 Also, how are claim block numbers assigned? Are they given out sequentially?)

Claim Corner Post Tags (sold in sets of four) are

affixed by nails to each corner post. The number

(4) in the top right-hand corner of the tag at

left indicates which corner post the tag is to be

placed on. The lower number (1237510)

identifies your claim on a claim map and in the

records of the Provincial Mining Recorder after it

is accepted for recording. Tag material is

aluminum or another metal alloy.

The tags are always placed as follows:

No. 1 on the northeast corner post;

No. 2 on the southeast corner post;

No. 3 on the southwest corner post; and

No. 4 on the northwest corner post.

Claim Line Post Tags are affixed to all line

posts. The claim number, distance and direction

from the last corner post erected is inscribed or

scratched into the coating of the tags. An extra

fine ballpoint pen or a sharp nail can be used to

mark the tags.
