Someone told me that my opinion of Robert Friedland would not change throughout the book. My opinion of him in the first few chapters was that he was an SOB and a thief. However, as we got to the shoe slapping incident and beyond, I did develop an admiration for his smarts and playing the game at such high levels. He was never intimidated. Learned what he had to learn and executed beautifully. Yeah he is still an SOB but a very cunning one who got the most for himself and those lucky enough to be shareholders.
