In the Abitibi greenstone belt, volcanic cycles have been recognized with ultramafic/komatiitic flows at the base grading upwards to more felsic volcanics at the top. At the base are Ni deposits such as Alexo, Dundonald, Sothman,Texmont, Redstone, Langmuir, etc associated with the ultramafics and Cu/Zn deposits such as the Potter and Kidd Creek associated with the upper felsic volcanics. Are we seeing the same in the McFaulds Lake area? Who knows right now, but maybe worth considering.
