I agree completely. Your reasoning is very sound. However, just to be safe I still think it is a good idea for everyone to put in bids above $6.00 they must go through to get the close below $6.00. It certainly can not hurt to have them look at the bids before trying. I understand there are 150 people reading this forum for every poster. That is a lot of people. If each put in a bid they would think twice about losing that number of shares.
