hello friends,
it seems we are getting a lot of new viewers (and posters) to our forum on noront. welcome aboard.
some of the same questions keep coming up, so i thought i would be useful to give some shortcuts to bring yourself up to speed on any company on this agoracom board you wish to learn about. (especially noront, since we have such depth of knowledge shared here.)
an easy way to learn a lot is to see what posts have a lot of thumbs up, the numeric rating that is on the right side of the message for each line as you look at all of the messages in the recent and past discussion board message grids. the large number of thumbs up means the individuals reading it thought it added value.
if you go back to early september when the board had a LOT fewer readers a 10 thumbs up would be representative of very good info, in october 20 thumbs up would be a minimum with the increased readership, 30 thumbs up in november, 40 thumbs up thereafter till the present time represents good info and worth reading. we will call these the high quality posts. (other agoracom boards with fewer posters will have much smaller thumbs up threshold levels of course.)
by reading the older higher rated posts you will see that several individuals have had a good understanding of what was unfolding with noront, based on their prior experience in either mining, the markets, or both, and were not just wild guessing. they would likely be a good group to study as time goes forward.
another IMPORTANT TIP, when you click on the older messages link in the top left corner of the discussion forum, when you reach the 2nd or 3rd page backwards look at your toolbar, see on the right side of address bar line, it says page=#, and lists a page number. right today you can enter backwards to about page #1080. that is their are currently about 1080 pages on noront content with about 30 posts per page. this will assist you in going back quickly in time and moving forward to get a better timeline. start at the beggining and watch the story as it unfolded. read the higher rated posts and most of your questions will be answered. using the critea of only reading the posts with the most thumbs up for the respective time period you will find you can read most of the important events in noronts story in a few hours. just start at the back #1080 or thereabouts and read the occasional highly rated posts.
several of the newcomers want to know where the price of the stock is going, even if you are told where the share price is going it might not help you make as much money as you should. the key to making money in the markets is to have knowledge. that you gain with due dilegence. or doing your own homework. no one can do that work for you. you can help yourself by researching all you can about a firm, then making a wise investment or speculation (two very different things, but two very useful approaches).
even today the noront story is just getting out, very few people outside of canada have heard anything about the discovery. what will happen when the u. s. market (where i am from) piles in?? it is still early in the game and it will be to your advantage to understand what you are looking at.
almost all of a newcomers BASIC questions are already answered if you just read the better posts from the board as described above. i have read almost every post and been here on the noront forum since near the beggining, it has been a big help. you don't need to read every post to catch up, the beauty of reading the old high quality posts is you can quickly come up to speed.
after reading the high quality posts you will still have questions, but they will likely be questions which ADD to the board and are not rehash of what has been asked and answered 20 times already. now a newcomer's well studied question and or insight will add value to the board from early on as they can contribute to the body of work already in place.
i am happy to have found this site with a group who actually add insight on a regular basis in a broad range of areas regarding noront. thanks and welcome to new readers whom can add more insight in the future.
do your homework,
be right and sit tight.
regards,
jsq
