Now, I may be wrong, but I thought that technical analysis is used to identify stocks that are worth looking into for buy/short. They are not, in and of themselves, the reason to buy or sell a stock.

This being said, I do not understand the reason that people keep talking about technical analysis on this site. I believe the majority of the forum readers are already holders of NOT stock, or they are already interested and are doing DD and information gathering. Am I missing something here?
