Glorieux, thanks for your post. We are just as committed to you and the members as well. As such, you have to ask yourself why there has been a slight (slight) change in information flow.
It has nothing to do with bashers. It has nothing to do with censorship. Noront is a big company now and, therefore, under greater scrutiny than most of its peers. As companies get bigger, they get more corporate. This is just the natural evolution of climbing market caps.
Think about how the Google founders communicated when they were still in their garage and how they communicate today. Information still flows to the benefit of everyone - but there are a couple of filters placed along the way.
99% of what applied 6 months ago still applies today. Not a lot has changed. However, as the company gets bigger, investors tend to hang on every word by Richard, management, employees, IBK and AGORACOM that much more. As such, the words have to be chosen a little more carefully.
Going behind a closed chat room door will not change that. It only exacerbates the issue. For Noront and all of us to thrive, we need a large and vibrant community of retail and institutional investors, both current and prospective. A community where investors can ask questions and get answers. Where we can share videos, photos and other information. All of which comes directly from the company. There is no substitute for that.
Yes, there are very minor limits to that information but it is more than compensated for by creating a large group of shareholders moving forward in the same direction for years to come.
Is it perfect? No - but only so far as there is no perfect solution. This is as close as it can ever come - and we should celebrate that.
Yes, there will be times when we might disagree with individual members - and there will even be times like this when many members disagree with us. But never forget that we are unequivocally in your corner. We work for the company and its best interests. We work for you. We want the share price to go higher as much as anybody else here.
In accomplishing this goal, we also have the responsibility of protecting the company - and we take that job seriously. We want your holdings and our stock options to go to $100 if possible - but it can't be at all costs. Our primary responsibility is to get information into your hands as fast and as equitable as possible. If we do our job any other way, it is at the peril of all of us.
I would think you would appreciate this and hope you understand it enough to trust us even when you don't agree with us.
We're with you and every Noront shareholder. It is that simple. Let's all take a minute to breathe and digest the things I've had to say over the last hour. You will find that very little has changed and, in fact, the bond between us is even stronger.
Best,
George
