It does read like they tried to apply a "one size fits all" reference standard to the entire batch. The exact nitty gritty details we'll probably never know but I suspect someone at SGS will be sweeping the floor for a while instead of selecting reference standards.

All's well that ends well as they say.

Market makers sure had a field day with it though. Biggest lesson I learned from all this was to be carefull with where I set a stop loss as the Market Makers can see it. My guess is that quite a few people had $4.00 stop losses set and the Market manipulators were just waiting for something like this to happen.
