be 2 separate and distinct mining camps?

Based on my own perceptions, which have not been rejected out of hand by a geo in the RoF play, and futher backed up by the articles jsq has been so kind as to post as it relates to the Merensky reef, this could be a possibility.

If we get all the PGM goodies encircling a base metal deposit, you could have 2, count 'em, two bidding wars take place.

Just as DeBeers wants nothing to do with nickel, they're all about diamonds, Vale Inco may want nothing to do with Platinum. Ever wonder why Norilsk is in the area?

So, you could end up with the titans of the indstry fighting over the luscious nickel/copper deposit we can assume is in the centre ( not fact yet, only conjecture) while the PGM majors scrap over the platinum/palladium/rhodium.

Something to think about while we wait.
