I'll agree but also feel that day traders can be quite valuable to 'longs' as they assist in making a 'market' for shares and even 'longs' at some point wish to either add to their position or sell some of their position. Having good volume of trading makes either move easier and can assure best possible entry/exit pricing. Even the much abused MM's (Market Makers) are often a necessary evil as when volume is low they do at least provide someone to sell or buy from. Low volume of trading does tend to make investors nervous as they see themselves unable to make a desired move.

Noront has been experiancing low volume of trading lately as news is awaited which to many of us 'longs' means you just can't regard the price shares change hands at as being a good indication of either direction or value.
