When I invest, I subscribe to the credo of a few eggs only in my basket and I watch those eggs like a hawk. When I do my DD to put my hard earned money into these companies, I ask myself if I could defend this investment with friends, collegues and other posters. If I can, that means I have reached a level of understanding of this company that permits me to invest and feel very good about my investment.
Now, when I discuss this company in a public forum such as agoracom, I will be writting positive posts and that makes sense to me. Part of it is manipulation to some extent (and this is why you should always do your own DD) where I have a vested interest in the stock price moving up but I am also ethical where I believe what I am posting and want more inexperienced investors to benefit from my DD. I also enjoy the positive feedback that green thumbs offer. It is rewarding to write something and have others read it and approve it. Now if this makes me a PermaBull, so be it. My approach is very logical and I believe most honest investors can relate to my way of thinking.
However, there are those who, for there own motives, will do anything to discredit myself or other posters with the same motivations. As an investor, we must question those motives and those ethics. We have had an interesting day today and have unmasked some shaddy individuals with handles that express high knowledge (aka Geoprof) and his more low level defenders (probably himself or others in his basher's cubicle).
To me, logically, if my DD says I may be wrong concerning an investment, I would sell my position or part of my position and then bring up those issues that bother me about this company and debate those issues logically with other posters. Now, if my post brings negative elements to the forum but are substantiated, I believe other logical investors (perma bulls) will be open to discuss them. Does the fact that I sold before bringing these negative issues up make me less ethical...possibly but it is still money we are talking about and at some point we all look after ourselves first-That is just the reality of the stock markets. However, to simply bash a stock or a perma bull reaks of unethical manipulation and any such posts should raise a red flag about the poster.
The Perma Bulls on this site are honest individuals who have done their DD, continue to do their DD by exchanging materials on this board and do so mostly to the benefit of the less knowledgeable retail investors. We take great pride in this forum and will defend it when the need comes. This does make for rather unpleasand posts that are devoid of core info on NOT but freeing this board of unscrupulous individuals is a big priority also.
I, as a faithful Perma Bull am very proud of our members here.
Warmest regards to all LONGS,
Glorieux
PS I have been probably too honest on this post about manipulation and ethics and I can understand if some of you are offended by this. However, always remember that the stock market is a war room and always look out for yourself first. I apologize if this post offended anyone.
