"If the bid is $4.24 and the ask is $4.25 how can the last transaction of the day sell the stock at $4.22? Just doesn't make logical sense. They are doing a hell of a job at keeping it down, but how can one pick up shares 2 cents below the bid and 3 cents below the ask?"
Easily, someone jumps in below the ask and the highest bid gets the lowest ask which won't even show up on the ask listing as it's an instant transaction.
