What Will It Take?

NI 43-101 Update (September 2012): 11.1 Mt @ 1.68% Ni, 0.87% Cu, 0.89 gpt Pt and 3.09 gpt Pd and 0.18 gpt Au (Proven & Probable Reserves) / 8.9 Mt @ 1.10% Ni, 1.14% Cu, 1.16 gpt Pt and 3.49 gpt Pd and 0.30 gpt Au (Inferred Resource)
What will it take to ignite the share price? What will it take to provide sustained upward pressure on the share price? Two fundamental questions.
The answer to the first, is discovery of another Eagle One.
The answer to the second, are rising metal prices.
A 43-101 will only act as a “life preserver” because the market has already factored that into the existing share price.
The discovery of another Eagle One is highly probable. Predicting metal price variations is a real gamble. Some get it right, some get it wrong. I for one am not prepared to comment further as that is not in my realm of expertise other than saying, in general terms, it relates to supply/demand which in turn is affected by a multitude of economic and other factors.
Old Joe recently made an observation and comment re the possibility of other Eagle Ones being found in the granodiorite in proximity to the RIF. Pretty cool for an old geezer, but maybe not so far fetched. In one of the NRs, Noront commented “It appears that a series of conduits cutting across and through the granodiorite have acted as feeders to the RFI.” Lets give this some more consideration. Without implying a “meteorite impact” origin for the McFauld’s “structure”, there may, and I say may be a possibility of a parallel to Sudbury. Originally, the Sudbury model only considered Ni/Cu mineralization in the irruptive. It wasn’t until the late 60s that the presence and importance of “footwall” type deposits were recognized although “offset” deposits were known and had been mined for years. Interesting parallel?? Why has a lot of ground been staked in the interior portions of the large felsic pluton to the west? Look where Vale/Inco’s claim group is. To me it doesn’t appear to be on strike with the regional ring-like mag trend, but at an oblique angle. Did they postulate a similar hypothesis based on their intimate knowledge of the Sudbury Basin? They certainly didn’t acquire the ground for a future air strip or hotel complex. With respect to Norilsk Nickel, I can find no evidence, directly or indirectly that they have acquired any ground in the McFaulds area. I checked for Norilsk, Stillwater Mining (54% owned by Norilsk), Pacific Northwest Capital Corp (11% owned by Stillwater) and a few individual stakers who are known to stake for the latter.
A few final comments. A lot of attention seems to be given to the minute or hour by hour variations in the stock price. If you are a short-term or daily trader, paying attention is the name of the game. I couldn’t care less as I am a long-term player. My focus is in months with definite price targets. I win a lot more times than I lose. I got in NOT at $4 when the last PP was done after having done my DD for the preceding 3 months. I am still in.
Cheers
Have a great weekend everybody!
