(Noront)(TSX VENTURE:NOT) is pleased to announce that it has entered into an
agreement with a private Quebec company, TSR Resources Inc. (TSR) to acquire
an interest in TSR's Garden Island gold-base metal property.
The TSX Venture Exchange has accepted for filing documentation pertaining to an option agreement dated July 6, 2007, between Noront Resources Ltd. and TSR Resources Inc. Pursuant to the agreement, the company will have the option to acquire up to a 33-1/3-per-cent interest in the Garden Island property. The property is located approximately 15 kilometres northeast of Val d'Or, Que., and comprises 296 mining claims, most of which are in Pascalis and Senneville townships, which lie along a northwest-southeast-trending Abitibi volcanic greenstone belt.
Noront Resources Ltd. (“Noront”)(TSX Venture: NOT) and Freewest Resources Canada Inc. (Freewest, symbol FWR:TSX-V) are pleased to announce the commencement of the first phase of diamond drilling on their Lizar gold – base metal property (the property) located in Northwestern Ontario. Straddling the Kabinakagami greenstone belt this 504 claim unit property covers an area of 81 square miles and is situated in Lizar, Brekenridge, Nameigos and Mosambik townships. Thunder Bay lies 500 km to the west and the Hemlo gold mining operations are located 90 km to the west near Marathon, Ontario.
