BK ....
In the last couple of months, I have sent two emails to Michael Bryant - Minister for Aboriginal Affairs (Government of Ontario) asking for clarification on the Platinex - KI case.
I have not received a reply. In the meantime, the government's law officers sent a number of native peoples to jail because they felt that they had been ignored in the complaints against Platinex.
My concern was about the handing out of mining permits, and who was informed. Some newspaper reporters from the northern communities intimated that Platinex received the permits BUT the native peoples were not included in discussions or informed of the permit granting by the Government of Ontario.
To this day, I have not had my question answered by Mr. Byrant. IMHO, the Government is the problem.
Finally, about a month ago I asked Neil Novak via email about this issue of Platinex. He said that we had nothing to worry about with regards to Noront's relationship with the native peoples at Marten River or Atawapiskat. Relations are very good.
