Anyone who has frequented this board for at least a few months, knows the very high regard in which I hold Noront management and Richard Nemis in particular. He/They have genuine concern for the retail shareholders.
Like myself, and probably many of you, I am sure Noront management people have influenced many family members and friends to invest in NOT.
It is precisely because of this genuine concern, that I suggest Noront should do whatever they can to keep the share price above $3.00 to avoid having loyal shareholders forced out by margin calls.
Do I ask this for myself? Yes, but only in a small way. If I am forced to sell a small portion of my NOT holdings, I will just buy them back when the inevitable price rise returns. This is what I did the last time we dipped below $3.00 in January.
So I am actually asking Noront to do whatever they can for the benefit of the many shareholders who have gone out on a limb to support our company. It has been mentioned on this board in the past that some investors have mortgaged their homes, used margin, or used funds intended for other purposes, to buy more Noront shares. I think these people deserve the shares much more than the criminal vultures who want to steal them.
Was this wise of them to do so? No, of course not, but you have to admire their commitment. I think this kind of loyalty should be celebrated and supported, especially because we all know our stock is worth far more than the current price. This is not a wild statement, it is IMHO a fact. Just ask the PP participants who invested at $4.00, many of whom exercised warrants at $5.00.
What can Noront management do? Well, you must have wondered how the share price managed to stay above $6.00 for ten straight trading days earlier this year, causing the early triggering of the warrant exercise deadline. I have to believe that Noront had some influence in that.
Another suggestion would be for Noront to announce a "Normal course issuer bid". For those of you who are not familiar with this, it is a situation where a company states publically their intention to buy back, up to a certain number of their own shares from the market. It is usually done when the management of a company believes their shares are at a bargain price, therefore representing a good investment.
Noront sold millions of shares at $5.00 (on the exercise of the warrants). To buy some back in the low $3.00 range would be a good move in my opinion. Just the announcement of a normal course issuer bid, usually causes share price strength.
But we need all of our funds for exploration, you say! Yes, but is there anyone who does not think we will soon be able to raise more funds at a much higher price?
Holding with confidence, Canseco
