NI 43-101 Update (September 2012): 11.1 Mt @ 1.68% Ni, 0.87% Cu, 0.89 gpt Pt and 3.09 gpt Pd and 0.18 gpt Au (Proven & Probable Reserves) / 8.9 Mt @ 1.10% Ni, 1.14% Cu, 1.16 gpt Pt and 3.49 gpt Pd and 0.30 gpt Au (Inferred Resource)
Two interesting reports today regarding conversations with RN and NN.
It seems as if many are thinking that the 43-101, coming "very shortly" is or will be our savior, at least for some period of time. My own feeling is that the report won't come nearly as quickly as people anticipate, based mainly on experience where such reports are delayed not only months, but sometimes over a year. Sometimes, the reason might be that the report won't be quite so glowing as management anticipated, and so, if exploration is ongoing, you wait and see what else might be included in the report to get it looking as good as possible.
Now, unless there is D1 like news (but how would we get that, we can't seem to be able to report on assays of samples taken months and months ago), then it likely is the 43-101 that people are waiting for. In my opinion only, if management were to actually come completely clean and say, "it will be out by the end of October," the stock would tank further, as it might be considered dead money until then. Naturally, D1-like assay results from another NOT hole (or a partner or a neighboring claim) would trump all, but those things are pretty tough to find.
So, like those in the US government not wanting to give a timetable for exit from Iraq, I think NOT doesn't want to give an estimate other than "very shortly" for the 43-101. The reason - many would not want to sell their shares if they felt they would miss out on that news, and having even more people sell is bad for the share price. I don't for one second think those PP folks who exercised their warrants are happy people right now, and management probably has taken a lot of heat from them.
There really have been a few too many soft promises made by management over the last several months that have not come to pass. Regardless of posters reassuring us of the veracity and integrity of RN and NN and the rest of the NOT crew, it's difficult to overlook these "disappointments" - there is a taint on management, and it gets a little worse as time passes and those old assays are not reported on, and soon it will be the whereabouts of the 43-101 (it will be explained that NOT needed to do this or that, so as to include certain other resources).
Given the above, and the overall junior metals market (which NOT has finally joined after being gloriously exempt for many, many months), it is not surprising that the stock has performed abysmally. Many of us await a turnaround.
The above are my suspicions and speculations regarding this whole business; just my guess based on what I read here, the releases, and the share price performance, all filtered through some years of investment experience.
