After reading that last great link by Miskealp, it tends to make one wonder why the market appears to be so sour towards it.

Its used in just about everything!!

Chromium is seldom used alone. It is the supreme additive, endowing alloys or materials with economical new properties - strength, hardenability, permanence, hygiene, color and resistance to temperature, wear and corrosion. This versatility has established chromium in countless everyday applications.

Chromium is the unique ingredient responsible for the remarkable corrosion and oxidation resistance of stainless steels

Fundamental forces in society are driving the increasing desirability of stainless steels - their provision for health and hygiene, safety, optimum working life, appearance and their contribution to equipment, structures and services to improve and maintain the environment and our lifestyle.Chromium additions in low alloy steels contribute towards a range of improved properties, but especially hardenability - an ability to achieve a balance between hardness and toughness in engineering steels. Bearing steel tools, high speed steels and high-strength-low-alloy (HSLA) steels are specific sub-sectors that use chromium.

Much more. Then it goes down to refractory metals and on and on.

Not being accepting of Chromium seems to me to be ridiculous. I was on Stockhouse this AM reading and a poster stated that the NOT share holders want Nickel not chrome. lol

I put 2 cents worth into a response.

Thanks Miskealp
