Coswil,
You said, "look at the stock market. What stock has survived any canage. none ".
With just one line you summed up why Noront SP is at where it is today. Short and sweet and needed. There is complete truth in just that one line so verbosity is not always required to get a point across (which can be one of my faults at times :) I think the markets hold the answer as to why we are at this price today. Not anything happening at the properties, good or bad. Thank you for sharing your technical market expertise with us. It is helpful.
I returned from a meeting today where the Q2 financials for the organization I work for were presented. The finance guys (I work in the I.T. side of things) manage a fund of about 4.6 Billion dollars representing a variety of different investments. They manage the strategy and risk and seven investment houses around the world do the work. Bonds, currency, derivatives, equities.. They were disappointed that year to date they were down 1% in fund value. I almost started to laugh. I asked if that number was up till the end of June and the VP said yes. If only the rest of the market was in such a position.
What this told me is that at times risk averse investments pay off in times of recession and pullback. But that same investment strategy does not typically bring returns the likes that many of us speculators enjoy seeing. 20% fund ROI is a good year for my organization. There have been some years where that was 35%. But they will never see double, triple, or 1000% returns. But for our fund to be down 1% in this market is amazing. I secretly wondered if any of that money was made shorting Noront. I would prefer not to know.
Though I get the high level numbers, I am not privy to the investment decisions these seven investment houses make and even if I did I would probably be board. A t-bill here, a bond here, and a blue-chip in Europe here. Let's face it, most of us on here like the action.
With the action will sometimes come the pain of seeing temporary swings that can cause a heart to beat very fast and a wife to talk even faster. But to remain focussed on DD like D12 has stated and keep a long term focus based on what we know will bring the rewards that we are all looking for. What makes pumping Noront a nice thing is that there is a lot of good information known to justify the pump. Who wouldn't want to share the news with everybody. And we will all be vindicated at some point in the future. This is our destiny based on being involved with this stock early (it is still very early in the Noront story, IMHO).
I believe we need to disassociate shareprice from true company value in this type of market. As long as Noront has enough cash to keep meeting its objectives (and they do), we will be fine.
The only objective we should have at this point is encouraging all to hold. A look at the share action the past three days shows that there are a lot more stronger hands out there than in previous drops. This bodes very well for the future when demand for Noront shares returns.
Keep up the good posts everyone. Sorry for the long winded message again but it is hard to break the habit once I get going.
