But the money is already in the RSP. Should that person take it out now and pay the tax? Assuming that the person does not have other funds to invest, perhaps the self directing RSP would be good to purchase some NOT rather than the mutual fund or whatever it is currently in. I agree that future money invested in the new exemption would be the way to go.
