Hello traders, wakey-wakey

Monday, August 25, 2008

If the investing scene seems pretty quiet these days – few analyst reports, few headline-grabbing news events, fewer, um, blog postings – there may be a reason: The last days of summer put a haze over the markets.

According to Bespoke Investment Group, all five trading days last week ranked among the 10 lowest-volume days for the New York Stock Exchange so far this year. Friday was the slowest day of the year. Bespoke expects this week, the last one before Labour Day arrives next Monday, could break more records for low trading volume.

“For those that are trading this week, check the spreads before placing market orders,” Bespoke said on its blog, Think B.I.G. “Your normal bids and asks may be sipping margaritas at the beach!”

Not just Us!

Cheers,

Milsy1
