I wonder if some of this delay in drilling is attributable to these new VTEM survey results, and a rethinking of previous Geophysics Surveys.
JD,
these VTEM maps are NOT NEW - maybe new to the board because I posted them 4 days ago on the FWR board (for the first time, as far as I´m aware) - but they originated from a company presentation that Mac Watson and Don Hoy of FWR did back in May 2008 in New York (see p. 25/26):
"Wall Street Wonders Presentation"

So they can´t be a reason for a delay in drilling because this information would have been available since May.
But I agree that VTEM (plus INFINITEM) seems to be the key survey for the RoF because of its ability to detect deep targets (>1km) even with conductive overburden and beeing more precise compared to AeroTEM surveys (see my previous post on VTEM).
And that´s why FWR detected Noront´s AT-12 with this VTEM survey and reported the find, which didn´t show on Noront´s previous AeroTEM surveys.
And for the "Blackbird search" (downhole) gravity surveys seem to be the key, because chromite doesn´t have a very strong magnetic susceptibility (not really detectable with EM surveys) but a very high density compared even with ultramafic rocks.
My conclusion is that these two surveys seem to be the best choice to have a high success rate in locating the two main deposit types found so far in the RoF.
And I´m pretty sure, the company Geos are way ahead of all of us because they have far more information and knowledge, so let them do their job !
Caution: and be sure that most of the publicly available maps DON´T show the "real" picture (i.e. see NOT/FWR Anomaly JV maps).
