In the Chromex Article it was stated that "Demand for stainless steel, the primary determinant of chromite demand, has been growing at close to 7%pa for the last decade, and is forecast to grow at an average rate approaching 6% annually until 2020 according to consultants Heinz H. Pariser."

If money at 6% interest rate doubles in 10 years. Chromite demand is suppose to increase at 6% per year for over the next ten-twelve years. The world will need double the output in 10 years... Not an easy task...
