I am a little suprised that Noront hasn't gained a little more traction with the FNC halt. I understand that the markets are taking a beating, commodities are down substantially manipulation etc, etc. But, the package of land that is being drilled by FNC has to be one of the most anticipated targets in the ROF just by virtue of it's close proximity to E1.
Like many others here have surmised, it is unlikely that FNC has halted due to bad news and or bad visuals. I think it was Hoov who posted that if there current holes were not up to par, they would just keep drilling. They are certainly not obligated to halt and diseminate news part-way through their drilling campaign.
With that said, you can count me in the good news forthcoming camp.
Although we do not know first hand what the working relationship is between FNC and NOT, one would have to assume that they are pretty damn tight. As much as they are working independently to maximize their own shareholder's values, you have to know that they are working with each other for the betterment of both.
That leads me to a couple of questions. Did FNC halt because good visuals were leaked? The recent drop in their share price wouldn't lead one to beleive that this was the case. Why would FNC halt during this slaughter? (Unless visuals are fantastic) As others have also posted here, maybe we can expect Noront to follow up with a halt of their own followed by again good news. If this is in fact to happen, why would it be decided that FNC should halt first? Maybe more mileage in terms of S/P appreciation from the company with the lower float of the two?
In any event, I am still a little suprised (well okay maybe dumbfounded) that FNC is halted and we wallow.
Time will tell.
Cheers,
