By backing the bonds and the like with gold they are willing to forgo the cost of keeping the gold in storage.

Gold has intrensic value to many people and therefore they should be allowed to buy as much of it as the can afford. They could sit in front of their little pile and happily look at it all day long. Good for them. I like seeing people happy with their lot in life.

The actions of the US Fed will make Gold Hustle Bunnies very happy, I am sure???
