Drill Program to Commence on the Hawk/Noront Optioned Joint Venture Property, "Ring of Fire" Area, McFauld's Lake

Hawk Uranium Inc. (TSX VENTURE:HUI)(FRANKFURT:HPM) ("Hawk") is pleased to announce that Noront Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:NOT) ("Noront") will commence an initial 3-hole diamond drill program totalling approximately 450m on its optioned joint venture property in the "Ring of Fire" McFauld's Lake Area, Northeastern Ontario. This work is scheduled to commence during the first week of October 2008. Hawk is earning a 50% interest in the subject property.

Noront, the operator of the project, has advised Hawk that the drill program will target a prominent airborne geophysical anomaly identified from the approximately 300 line km of helicopter-borne AeroTEM and magnetic geophysical surveys conducted by Aeroquest International Ltd. at 100m line spacing over the property. Ground detail follow-up consisted of approximately 132 line km of ground geophysical surveys, including HLEM - Max-Min (horizontal loop electromagnetics), ground magnetometer and VLF (very low frequency) electromagnetic surveys. A second airborne electromagnetic and magnetic survey was flown over the property using Geotech Ltd - VTEM technology.
