Sorry for any confusion.

If you had a 100% chromite concentrate with individual chromite grains analyzing 51.9% Cr2O3, the assay of the concentrate should be 51.9% Cr2O3. Assuming no other significant Cr-bearing minerals present in a rock, other than chromite (pretty safe assumption under the circumstances) then assays of rocks containing chromite with the identical Cr composition, which contain less than 100% chromite should assay proportionately less. I.E. if the rock assays 25.95% Cr2O3, then we know that the rock contains 50% chromite.
