The following is a quote from Warren Irwin in a 2003 article in the National Post.

"We are fundamental analysts who focus on special situations such as corporate bankruptcies, restructurings, breakups, liquidations. Within these situations, we invest across the capital structure of the company. Sometimes we get substantial risk-adjusted returns, by buying the debt instead of the common stock. Given the amount of research we do, we keep in concentrated around our 15 best ideas. We do, from time to time, to keep some shorts to shelter us in certain industries."

I tried checking their website this morning. Seems it was either asleep, dormant, dysfunctional or otherwise non-responsive!!
