This is what made Pinetree and Brownstone crash in 2002

I don't see that Pinetree has ever recovered nor has Brownstone. Sheldon may never have been guilty but this sure did the stock price in of both companies.

Sheldon Inwentash
(27)
$11,202,261
CEO, Pinetree Capital Ltd.
Publicly lauded in 2002 for pulling the plug on a merger of two firms in which he was a principal owner, Inwentash then merged the firms two years later. His $370,000 salary represented just 3.3% of his total payout after options and bonuses.
Risky business: In December, 2006, the Ontario Securities Commission announced that Pinetree, and Inwentash, were under investigation for insider trading and stock manipulation.
