This has happened to me; too many times: in the past 25 years, plus of investing in junior mining stocks: that: I the retail investor lost out after taking all the risk, and having my dreams dashed, by a company not having a chance to reach its full max. value. Yet the board of directors, and ceo`s made all the money.
One example: was a time ago, when I believed in the company called Winspear. I was so excited, I went to a convention; and listened to Randy Turner ceo of Winspear speak, I even joked with my friends calling him uncle Randy Turner. I, scraped together what ever money I could to buy shares, buying them steady on the rise when I could, reading my northern miner, with excitement, that they kept finding rich diamonds in these dikes. Having no money left and a falling share price, I, see a private placement of 20 million shares at $2 (this is what I believe from memory). To have the shares surge up after, but to not recover all my money.
I feel that, to protect the small retail shareholders in all junior mining venues, that every shareholder: no matter how small, or big should have one vote. Just as in our federal elections, one person, one vote. machgold
