I think it's because he's an old-school guy who lives by his principles, and wants to be successful, and wants his shareholders to share that success with him.
I don't think that fits in with the plans and the vision that the hedgies have. They plan on using ( and have to some degree already, with us) the shareholder to be a type of revenue-stream that they suck dry and discard when that revenue source is all used up, and then they make it impossible for the shareholder to ever "wait it out" and make back their losses.
And since when does age have ANYTHING to do with it? How old is Warren Buffett? I don't hear anyone saying he should retire from Berkshire Hathaway?
I am dismayed that they collectively want to push RN out, and you gotta think of the man at a time like this, even though they are trying to steal his discovery from him, he is fighting tooth and nail to get a fair deal for the shareholders, and is looking for the right replacement for himself to stall the deal.
