Yesterday had been a long day, many phone calls, many great conversations, but now I was relaxing and reading the posts on the board. It was way past my bedtime.
At 12:24A.M. the phone rings. Sure it must be bad news, I whispered, “Hello?”
“Who’s this?” a man said. Realizing that I would be jailed if I hurt him, I replied, “Well who am I speaking to?”
“This number showed up on my phone, so you must have called me.”
Good grief, it’s a Noront shareholder, I realized. Be polite.
Twenty minutes later following his very funny tale of living alone as a senior in a small hamlet in northwest Ontario, and a full explanation of the Noront proxy situation and that he needed to vote asap and, yes, he was going to vote for Richard by telephone as he didn’t have a computer, we hung up the phone.
Good job, I thought as I headed for bed.
At 12:55 A.M. the phone rings.
“I did it! I voted!” he shouted.
What a guy!
