The new NOT roundtable....

Well we have now advanced/declined to another phase of the NOT story. Some say we should accept and feel confident. Others feel this board cannot be a great thing, but it might be good enough to keep us on track.

I feel "if" this board maintains the basic plans of Noront and moves forward in a way that includes "all" shareholders and doesn't use behind closed door tactics to further the agenda of the few more powerful investors in Noront we may have something that could be good for all. I really hope so and look forward to that happening.

Posting an Agoracom interview was a very smart thing for the new Board to initiate. They are aware of the discomfort many of the shareholders have, much like any other takeover bid would ensure. They have attempted to comfort us through open doors of discussion. This is very good and should not ever be discontinued.

Can this board bring us the trust and leadership that we have come to expect from Richard Nemis and his board? Time will tell. Until then I guess we'll see how things unfold. Yes we put the pressure on so that a mutually agreeable board of directors was picked. That we should all be very proud of, because personally I have never heard of such a thing happening through the retail investment community.

What will it take to make me stand beside this board the way we stood beside Richard? The next battle I guess or the next euphoric find and seeing how they handle it as our representatives. If they fight a hostile takeover bid and include us with them then we have something. If they fight the bid and figure they don't need our help to stave off the oppressors then I'm afraid we've taken a step backwards. Any fool can see there is power in numbers. I don't think even this board would turn down the opportunity to use the massive retail shareholder force within this company to help them with their battles.

What is the bottom line that we are asking of this board?

  1. Treat the retail investors with respect
  2. Treat the retail investors as people who have knowledge of this company
  3. Treat the retail investors as partners and not a pain in their sides
  4. Ask the retail investors what they think
  5. Answer the retail investors questions openly within the limits afforded the board members
  6. Take the good with the bad when they are grilled by different retial shareholders. They must be prepared to answer for their actions.
  7. Don't expect that the retail investors are their enemy..but rather that they are experienced and have constructive critisism to offer.
  8. Don't turn off the volume. Keep us in tune with the happenings of the company
  9. Keep us interested thereby keeping us holding long.
  10. Find the ways and means to ward off the manipulation effect on this company's stock. It is highly manipulated and has had an ugly effect on the morale of the shareholder base.
  11. Get us on the TSX as soon as possible to give us space from the volatility called the Venture Exchange.
  12. Treat us like partners and expect to be treated the same.

May I welcome the new board members and wish you all the best of good fortune while being involved with this great young company. I'm sure you'll show us how to make this a great company subject to the patience of its investment community and the hard work of Noront's staff.
