The only people who really played this market correctly over the last year or so were those who knew from the inside that things were far more rotten than anyone else imagined. There have been Bulls and Bears both making their predictions with the Bears largely being the winners. The Bulls to date have been pretty much full of themselves.... if you catch my meaning. "Commodities will always be needed and we'll ride through this on our own bubble"..... not. "China is experiencing huge growth and will keep commodity companies in business".... not. "This is the bottom, I can't see it going down any more, buy...etc." ..... not. And the list of comments and assertions goes on and on. Based on my readings we are not nearly as close to an end as we'd like to think and as the downward spiral increases in speed, as folks begin to see through their optimism and disbelief that this can get any worse, their realization will bring about the worst, and then we'll see the bottom. It's not my way to enjoy seeing my investment disappear before my eyes though others are fine with holding shares and waiting until they appreciate. What ever one is comfortable with is generally what works. The bottom line is to recognize that anything..... anything is possible including NOT or any number of other companies going into the teens, and to weigh your philosophies against that scenario. It is my wish and hope for better but I prepare for the worst so that I can reap the rewards later. Will I succeed? Only God knows.
